Nazi Railroad Train Eagle

This type of German Eagle was thought to be mounted on the sides of various types of railroad cars. In addition to the railroad cars, these eagles were known to be put on walls in high ranking Nazi official's offices.


"LOK" stands for Lokomotiv Reichsbahn Zug (Locomotive National train). The 600 is the length of the wingspan, at 600mm. "GAL-Mg-Si" are the abbreviations for aluminum, magnesium, and silicone that were the elements used to create the metal that was used to cast the eagle.


Kossuth County native Dennis Lickteig brought this specific eagle home after the war. The story of this particular item is not known. For example, we are not sure where or what this eagle came off of before Lickteig brought it home as a souvenir.
