During World War II, many countries used cleverly worded posters to boost morale of their people or even try to convince their enemies they would not be defeated.
These leaflets were confiscated at the gates of Camp Algona (the first one) during a body search and the others were handed out to local townspeople by German POWs on a work detail headed to a local farm.
Though by December 1945 or January 1946 it was pretty obvious the Germans would eventually lose, their spirits were high still after the invasion of Normandy where there was a high casualty rate on both sides.
